Job Responsibilities:
- A fashion buyer typically has a wide range of responsibilities, which can include:
- Collaborating with a technical designer to ensure development packages are accurate.
- Reviewing design sketches and mock-ups created by designers working on projects for the company.
- Should be able to understand production planning and can work with the production manager.
- Maintaining close contact with the sales, and production teams to ensure that items are appropriate for the customer, market, and price points.
- Maintaining relationships with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure that they meet deadlines and provide high-quality products.
- Analysing past sales data in order to identify which products are selling well or poorly so that adjustments can be made in future offerings.
- Negotiating prices, shipping terms, and other details of agreements with suppliers
- Creating purchasing orders for all products, including fabrics, buttons, beads, and other materials used in apparel manufacturing.
- Any other task assigned by the management.
