A full-time, permanent vacancy has arisen for a Head of Procurement. The successful candidate will lead, centralise and align the group procurement function driving best practice and delivering value to Vhi.

Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Leading, manage and develop the procurement function within Vhi.
- Setting and roll-out the procurement strategy and align procurement procedures across the Group, ensuring green purchasing, risk management and cost reduction are core.
- Designing and implement an annual procurement plan that will deliver cost savings, ensure value for money, and ensure organisational needs are met and synergies are realised across areas.
- Responsibility for all aspects of strategic procurement, including providing expert advice and managing procurement activities, commercial negotiations and value-for money.
- Management of the Procurement Team across sourcing, contracting, Purchase to pay, vendor management, and miscellaneous internal procurement support activities.
- Leading strategically significant, high value commercial negotiations when required
- Developing the category strategy with the team to generate value and competitive advantage
- Managing and support key senior business stakeholder and vendor relationships
- Providing procurement and contract of services negotiation advice to senior leadership across Vhi when required.
- Experience and ability to influence internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
- Responsibility for the on-going development, and creation of new value add reporting on key performance indicators in relation to the procurement function
- Establishing a culture throughout all levels of the business of long-term saving on procurement cost
- Continuous analyses and forecasting driving communication with senior management teams of any possible risks or obstacles which may emerge.
- Responsibility for ensuring that all procurement is carried out in a sustainable, ethical, compliant and controlled manner in line with procurement policy and follows best practice procurement techniques
- Supporting other duties and adhoc projects as required.
- Ability to travel from time to time
- 5+ years’ experience in a similar procurement role and level
- Min 10+ years industry.
- Proven experience leading through broad organisational change programmes and delivering change both internally with procurement teams, but also with internal and external business stakeholders
- 3rd level qualification in relevant area.
- Degree qualified or significant experience in a supply chain related discipline
- Strong negotiation skills, with proven ability to persuade and influence at all levels.
- Ability to understand and manage end to end procurement processes
- Ability to understand and develop high quality contracts
- Ability to work as part of and to lead a team, including leading cross disciplinary initiatives.
- Ability to work on own initiative being proactive, driven and enthusiastic.
- Excellent communications and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrate alignment with Vhi Values
